Skiing and boarding is set to be a real treat with significant snowfalls expected this weekend. Snow forecaster Pete 'The Frog' Taylor has predicted up to 30cm this Saturday, with snow down to 900m.

Great conditions continue at Perisher! 4cm of fresh flakes have settled across the resort over the past few days, bringing Perisher's accumulated total to 213cm since the start of the season. It looks like more snowfalls are on the way with a significant cold front expected to pass over the region tomorrow and another snow bearing system looking likely for early next week.

Official Opening of the Mt Perisher Snowmaking Expansion! -- 30 July 2009
Perisher officially launched the final stage of its three-year $19 million snowmaking expansion on Monday, 27 July 2009. The project involved installing kilometres of new pipelines and 68 automated snow guns, lifting Perisher's total number to 271 and taking snowmaking-covered terrain to 53.4 hectares.

Perisher has cracked the 2m mark of accumulate snowfalls! 7cm of fresh dry snow have settled across the slopes over the past 24 hours, bringing our snow total to 202cm since the beginning of the season (the natural base, measured at Spencers Creek, sits at 121cm).

Powder Nirvana! 32cm of fresh snow in 24 hours -- 23 July 2009
Last night Perisher was hit by Mother Nature's giant snow stick, which produced 32cm of fresh snow, turning the resort into a powdery paradise. To-date an accumulated 191cm of snow has settled across the resort, that's 71cm in June and 120cm since the beginning of July, allowing Perisher to offer excellent riding conditions across its four resort areas.

Be part of Perisher's newest event: The Coca-Cola Tube My Ride 1-2 Aug. Skiers and boarders are invited to take on the PlayStation Slopestyle course on Front Valley. The twist is that a run (can be multiple runs pieced together) is to be captured on film and edited into a slick video of no more than 3 minutes in duration featuring music from our Launch Your Band competition!

Tube Town NOW open! -- 9 July 2009
Tube Town opened for the first time this season on Wednesday 8 July, to the excitement of all. Conveniently located on Mt Piper, adjacent to the Perisher car park, Tube Town has specially groomed lanes that allow fun lovers and thrill seekers of all ages an opportunity to ride down the slopes with a lift back to the top, on purpose built lifts.

Ever dreamt of carving turns down an untracked run? The snow deliveryman hit his straps today dropping off 25cm of light dry snow across the resort; bringing the accumulated total to 33cm since yesterday. The resort is looking simply magical with snowdrifts of over a metre around the village and on the upper elevations.

The Blessing of the Snow held in Perisher on Saturday 6 June to usher in the 2009 winter season certainly did the trick with Mother Nature coming to the party! 43cm of fresh snow has settled across the slopes over the past 3 days. Light snow flurries began to settle in the resort on Sunday afternoon and as the mercury levels continued to drop the snow guns were fired up.

The remainder of winter 2008 should be a blast, thanks to recent snowfalls. 17cm were received on Monday 15 September and more snowfalls have been forecast tonight. 23 lifts in Perisher Valley and Smiggin Holes are currently in operation along with two Fusion Terrain Parks and the Superpipe, which is open for all levels of rider. Now is the perfect time to get out on the snow-covered slopes, there are minimal lift queues, super spring deals and stunning weather. Perisher Blue is cruising through its 15th week of what has been an amazing season both on and off the slopes. 17cm of snow settled in the Resort on Monday night bringing the total to 28cm since the beginning of September! These snowfalls coupled with a good base have made for great springtime skiing and snowboarding, which should remain right up until the end of the season on 6 October 2008. It is not too late to make the most of skiing or snowboarding this season!

Spring is finally here and what a start to the season! 3cm of snow settled across the slopes on Monday night, freshening the cover and adding to the base. There is an incredible number of groomed runs to choose from (often over 100 per day) and 42 lifts are presently operating, accessing the entire resort.

The Salomon Rail Slide was held on Front Valley last Thursday and a world record was set for the longest ever rail slide on skis! Congratulations to Nick Breheny the champion of the competition and winner of $5,000. This Saturday is the fourth annual Boost Mobile Sno Sho presented by Samsung at Perisher Blue and you can expect to see some world record-breaking snowboarding.

The 2008 snow season has now delivered on all that the pre-season forecasters had predicted! The accumulated snowfall so far is 282cm, which is comparable to the bumper 2004 season to date, and it is only getting better. More snow is on the way and Spring is looking like it's going to be one of the best for a while, so why not plan for a snow trip!

Perisher Blue, Australia's favourite snow holiday destination is experiencing a fabulous winter season with magnificent snow conditions. Throughout July and now into August cold temperatures and consistent snowfalls have been in abundant supply. We have had an impressive 286cm of accumulated snowfall since the opening weekend.

Perisher Blue has had a great season so far! We have received more snow at this time of year since 2004! Cold temperatures and consistent snowfalls have been predicted to continue right through to September. Peter 'the Frog' Taylor from Australia's number one snow forecasting website www.snowatch.com.au, believes the 'current weather patterns, indicating snowfalls, will continue over the coming weeks and another snow bearing system will arrive on the 20th of August bring snowfalls of around 10-15cm.'

Heaps of snow and more on the way! -- 14 August 2008
August is shaping up to be another huge month for snow, rivalling July. So far this week 24cm have been recorded and more is expected. This season the Resort has received 284cm of accumulated snowfall and the official snow depth is 150cm (as measured by Snowy Hydro at Spencers Creek). The Bureau has forecast further snow showers this week, which means there should be plenty of powder ripe for the ripping!

What a way to start August! Six days in and so far we have received a huge 44cm of fresh dry snow. Olympic T-bar has also made its season debut, allowing access to an expanse of black diamond runs for the advanced rider. A series of cold fronts are expected to move over the region tomorrow bringing scattered snowfalls, which should stick around until the start of next week!

Great news... it's been dumping here at Perisher Blue!! We received 35cm of snow over the past 24 hours and it is seems to be clearing now. The cover is in excellent condition and consistent low overnight temperatures have allowed for regular snowmaking, adding a fresh layer of man-made snow to the slopes.

Huge blue skies and plenty of sunshine! -- 24 July 2008
We have had a week of blue skies and plenty of sunshine, however the Bureau is forecasting more snow for the weekend. Very chilly nights, with temperatures as low as -15 degrees Celsius, has allowed for lots of snowmaking in Perisher Blue and has kept the natural cover in good shape.

26cm of Snow Fun! -- 22 July 2008
The predicted cold front has moved through bringing more than 26cm of snow in the past 48 hours. The Resort has been completely blanketed in all things white and fluffy, and with consistently low overnight temperatures there has been plenty of opportunities to crank up the snowmaking guns.

Get thee to the snow! -- 18 July 2008
5cm of snow fell overnight and the flakes are still falling! 70 snowguns were also fired up and the slopes are looking great for some action today. The cover is fresh and dry, and there are sure to be some windblown powdery stashes just waiting to be found.

Tube Town is OPEN! -- 15 July 2008
It is turning out to be a great day on the slopes. Today 45 lifts are expected to operate, providing great access to the entire resort for you to explore. Tube Town made its season début today! Head over and go for a slide, there are currently two lanes open. It’s the most awesome, family-fun-loving, snow experience around!

Powder to the People! -- 11 July 2008
Hoorah! The expected cold front arrived in spectacular fashion yesterday morning bringing with it blizzard conditions. In the past 24 hours more than 30cm of fresh dry snowfall blanketed the four villages that make up Perisher Blue.

Snowy Start to July! -- 8 July 2008
The second big dump for the season has arrived in time for the NSW school holidays! 15 cm of snow has fallen since 10am Monday morning, carpeting the ground with a white and fluffy layer.

Feelin' the BIG Chill! -- 4 July 2008
Holidaymakers and snow lovers alike are feeling the thrill of the BIG chill as winter hits Perisher Blue. The snowfalls arrived in spectacular fashion with close to 40cm falling in the Resort this week, just in time for the NSW school holidays, completely transforming the Resort.

34cm of Fresh Snow and it is Still Falling! -- 1 July 2008
The long awaited snowfalls finally arrived and in a big way! The falls began at 2.30pm, Monday 30 June and have continued throughout the early part of this week. 34cm of natural snowfalls have been added to the slopes in the past 48 hours and it has brought smiles to the faces of snow lovers around the resort.

A Fresh Dusting and More Snow Coming! -- 27 June 2008
Things are starting to look promising at Perisher Blue. A front hit the NSW alpine regions early on Thursday morning, which left the resort looking white and wintry. The light dusting coupled with snowmaking means both Front Valley and areas of Blue Cow are open for snow lovers to enjoy.

Hoorahh! Blue Cow opened today for the first time this season. Revellers of all levels of ability have enjoyed schussing around the slopes. At Blue Cow two lifts are in operation including the Early Starter Double Chair and the Pony Ride Rope Tow.

The opening weekend celebrations were a great success here at Perisher Blue with miles of smiles and a fantastic atmosphere in the resort. Skiers and snowboarders lined up at Mitchell T-bar on Front Valley eager to carve their first turns for the season on opening day at Perisher Blue.

It's been an exciting time for the snowmaking crew over the past couple of weeks following the arrival of the 34 new Techno Alpin snow guns. Now it's just a matter of testing the systems before it's snowmaking 'go time' in mid-May. Not long to go now!
