    The winter of 2008 provided some of the most consistently good snow that the Australian alpine resorts have experienced in a decade.

  • Perisher Blue says thank you! -- 3 October 2008
    It has been a remarkable winter! Perisher Blue was able to offer excellent riding conditions across its four resort areas for the majority of the 2008 season. Despite a slow start for snowfalls, the resort managed to open its first lifts on Saturday, 7 June 2008 and will be the last of the NSW resorts to close this long weekend Sunday, 5 October.

  • Perisher Blue: Season wrap up! -- 22 September 2008
    Perisher Blue is cruising through its 16th week of what has been an amazing season both on and off the slopes. 17cm of snow settled in the Resort on Monday 15 September bringing the total to 28cm since the beginning of September. Amazingly, more snow is predicted for later today! These snowfalls coupled with a good base have made for great springtime skiing and snowboarding, which should remain right up until the end of the season on Monday 6 October 2008.

  • The Coca-Cola Spring Carnival is underway! -- 16 September 2008
    The Coca-Cola Spring Carnival is underway for the 4th season running! The Resort has been filled with a festive feel and guests have been enjoying a host of daily entertainment as well as great spring skiing and snowboarding.

  • The 26th Pub-to-Pub Classic went off with a bang! -- 9 September 2008
    The 26th annual Pub-to-Pub Classic was a spectacular event! Over 500 hundred cross-country skiing revellers turned up dressed in an impressive range of fancy dress attire. There were all sorts of costumes from the wild and wacky to the truly original. Ninjas & nuns, pirates and Sesame Street characters each balancing on a pair of skinny skis lined up to race for the win.

  • 2008 BURTON AUSTRALIAN OPEN COMES TO A CLOSE -- 6 September 2008
    The 2008 Burton Australian Open has come to a close at Perisher Blue with Torstein Horgmo (NOR) and Jamie Anderson (USA) coming out on top, winning the men’s and women’s slopestyle competition yesterday.

  • Who’s the King of the Mountain? -- 5 September 2008
    The King of the Mountain is open to skiers looking to tackle some of the Resort's most challenging terrain to see who is King!

  • Mason Aguirre & Hannah Teter WIN -- 4 September 2008
    Crowds flocked to watch the Burton Australian Open final men’s and women’s halfpipe competition at Perisher Blue yesterday. Always a crowd favorite, the halfpipe finals were not to be missed as a field of impressive names threw down runs that were equally as impressive.

  • PlayStation Australian Freestyle Championships -- 2 September 2008
    On Saturday 18 August 40 skiers and snowboarders from around Australia and overseas battled it out at Perisher Blue in the hope of sneering the National Titles. The Australian Halfpipe Championships, a new event for 2008, was a huge success attracting a large and enthusiastic crowd to the Resort’s Front Valley Superpipe.

    During spring there is never a dull moment at Perisher Blue. In September guests can enjoy the cool crisp mornings skiing and boarding and can then take in the variety of events and activities on offer around the resort.

  • World Record Set at Perisher Blue! -- 1 September 2008
    On Thursday 28th August, 33 participants from around Australia battled it out at Perisher Blue in the hope of setting a world record for the longest ever rail slide on skis. The Salomon Rail Slide, the first ever ski event of its kind, was a huge success attracting a large and enthusiastic crowd to the Resort's Front Valley.

  • Winter Sports Club Athlete Scholarship Program -- 29 August 2008
    Over the years Perisher Blue's Winter Sports Club (WSC) has sponsored a number of local skiers and snowboarders and has assisted with their development in a variety of snow-sport disciplines. This season is no exception with the current crop of athletes in the program producing excellent individual and team results.

  • Burton Australian Open Brings World's Top Riders to Perisher Blue -- 22 August 2008
    Some of the biggest names in international snowboarding are making their way down under to the Burton Australian Open Snowboarding Championships, which will take place from 2-5 September, 2008 at Perisher Blue. The Open will feature men’s and women’s halfpipe and slopestyle competitions.

    Perisher Blue has been working with the NSW Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) to help restore an important population of Podocarpus lawrence (Mountain Plum Pine) at Blue Cow Mountain within Kosciuszko National Park that was badly damaged during the 2003 bushfires.
