5 Reasons why you should visit the snow this season

20 June 2008

Why visit the snow? The simple answer, because it is sooooo much fun! Whether hitting up the slopes, practising tricks in a halfpipe or terrain park or kicking back relaxing and taking in the sights, there is always something enjoyable to do on a trip to the snow. Here is a list of 5 reasons why you should visit the snow this winter.

Season Forecast
Weather forecasters are predicting regular snowfalls throughout the peak periods of July with August bringing quite a lot of snow. Peter 'The Frog' Taylor from snowatch.com.au, Australia's number one snow forecasting website, said "I see some light snowfalls around the 5th-6th of July before a stronger system brings significant snowfalls in the second week of July around the 11th-13th with another follow up snowfall around the 17th-19th."
Perisher Blue has already received one good luck drop of snow on Friday 13 June, which left the resort looking wild, white and wintry and another front is expected to hit this weekend. Time will tell, let's keep our fingers crossed, hopefully Mother Nature is in a good mood for the rest of the winter and into Spring!

Where else would you rather be in winter?
Cooped up, cold and at work or kitted out with the right gear and amongst it? It's winter and it's cold so you might as well get out and enjoy it. Nothing beats the thrill and exhilaration of swooshing down the slopes. Why be cold at home when you can be at the epicenter of winter good times? If you don't ski or snowboard, take a lesson, it's fun and you can learn a new skill and impress your friends! A goggle tan is always good for bragging rights too.

Great for everyone
A snow holiday offers something for everyone. Families, groups, kids, singles, couples, young and old can enjoy all that the slopes, shops and après scene has to offer. You can play hard or chill-out! Just walking through the snow can be such a good experience; it's fresh, crisp and invigorating. Build a snowman with the kids or have a snowball fight with your mates a new adventure starts everyday.

The vibe, the atmosphere, the party scene
The fun just never stops! There is always plenty of action on the slopes from skiing and boarding to snow play. There are lots of options off the slopes too, from sightseeing and people watching, to catching a band to sitting back and relaxing in one of the many on-snow cafes, bars and restaurants around any ski resort, it's so cool.

The magnificent Snowy Mountains
The crisp air, the beautiful vistas and white snow! Nothing beats the adventure, fresh air and scenery experienced in the Snowy Mountains. The magnificent Kosciuszko National Park is a place of pure serenity and one of Australia's natural marvels, simply not to be missed.
