The Perisher Blue Snowsports School includes three separate locations, each with a distinct business demographic and atmosphere.
Perisher Valley is the largest of the three locations and offers a wide range of products for alpine and board disciplines for adult and children (6 to 14 years) and it is the home to our Junior Snow Kids program (3 to 6 years) and Daycare center.
The base elevation at Perisher is 1720m and the highest lifted point is Mt Perisher at 2054m, which is also the highest point in the resort. Our guests can find accommodation, bars and restaurants, a supermarket and a post office at the Perisher on-snow village. The Medical Centre is located in the Perisher Valley skitube terminal.
A Snowsports manager looks after daily operations and is assisted by adult supervisors, a children’s supervisor, a board supervisor and two JSK supervisors.
Easily accessible and very popular with families and group tour operators. Smiggin Holes (Smiggins) offers products for alpine and board disciplines for adult and children (6 to 14 years) as well as adaptive skiers.
The base elevation at Smiggins is 1680m and the highest point is Mt Piper at 1830m. Smiggins has an
on-snow village with the main centre being the Smiggins Hotel. The Snowsports School and ticket office, rental shop and ski repair are located on the lower level.
A manager looks after daily operations and is assisted by two supervisors.
The highest snowsports school in elevation, Blue Cow offers products for alpine and board disciplines for adult and children (6 to 14 years).
The Race Department and Winter Sports Club are located at Blue Cow, which are responsible for many events and programs throughout the season.
The highest lifted point at Blue Cow is Mt Blue Cow at 1994m and the base elevation at the bottom of the Ridge chairlift is 1605m. There is no on-snow accommodation or ski and board hire at Blue Cow.
Blue Cow also services Guthega, another ski area within the Perisher Blue Resort. Guthega has an on-snow village but no Snowsports School meeting place is located at Guthega.
Perisher Blue provides paid and unpaid training to all Snowsports staff. Training clinics are offered throughout the season for self improvement and certification preparation.
Training is an excellent opportunity to gain confidence in your own skiing or riding abilities by developing your skills to make you a better teacher to the guest.
If you are planning on furthering your certification level through the Australian Professional Snowsport Instructors (APSI) you should make the most of the training provided.
