Where is Jindabyne?Jindabyne is the main town servicing the two major NSW ski resorts. It is located in the Snowy Mountains approximately 450 kms south west of Sydney and an easy two hour drive from Canberra.
Ideally you will have your own car as there is no local public transport in this area. Having your own car also gives you independence - you can go to Cooma shopping, take a day trip to Canberra or go sight seeing in the local area - there's plenty to see and do.. Wheel chains are required for staff intending to drive in the National Park. Make sure you know how to fit them and that they fit your car tyres properly.
Car Pool: Once you get to know each other a cheaper alternative is to car pool with your work colleagues.
Skitube (winter only): Bullocks Flat is 18 km from Jindabyne along the Alpine Way. There are 3 terminals for the Skitube:
Travelling time on the Skitube from Bullocks Flat to Perisher Valley is 10 minutes, from Perisher Valley to Blue Cow Mountain is 6 minutes.
Note: You must have a valid pass/staff pass when riding the Skitube if not you will have to pay approximately $30.00 return.
The roads can often be snow and ice covered - chains must be carried at all times when travelling in Kosciuszko National Park.
Employment is not guaranteed to all staff for the entire season as it is dependent on snow conditions and subsequent business demand.
